Peru

Peru is a country magnificent in landscape and history from the Andean mountains and the Amazon Basin to the mystery of Machu Picchu and the Nazca Lines. The people and cultures here are as diverse as the countryside with Quechua Indians in the Andes, remote Indian tribes in the rain forest and the Latino culture along the Pacific coast. Quickly becoming the culinary capital of the Americas eating in any region becomes an experience well worth the trip there.

Yet with all the beauty, with all the history, many tourists never see what lies on the outskirts of that beauty. While Peru is advancing economically there are still many children at risk. Parents in many regions of the country struggle to provide the basic necessities for their children and their access to jobs is minimal. While a trip to Lima. Cusco, and Nasca may be essential Bridge Builders hopes for groups to visit areas in great need. An example is Refuge of Hope, which works with some of the most marginalized in Peru, the disabled. A trip to Peru will leave your group mesmerized by the history but also transformed by the people!
