What is Bridge Builders?

Bridge Builders is an organization committed to facilitating the details and logistics of short-term service experiences for groups interested in working and partnering with projects in the Developing World. You recruit the team and Bridge Builders handles the rest. Bridge Builders takes care of the details so you don't have to!

Over the past twelve years the personnel associated with Bridge Builders has provided a variety of team opportunities in Bolivia, Brazil, the Dominican Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Nicaragua, Peru, South Africa and Thailand.

Many teams have been involved in the construction of schools, student centers, health and nutrition centers and other community facilities. Teams serve side-by-side with the host community, learning and working together while impacting peoples’ lives in a tangible way. Some groups have added components of language study and home stays. Bridge Builders is able to design the cross-cultural experience that fits your group. Contact us today about the goals and interests of your group!

Pura Vida Partners

Voyage. Expedition. Odyssey. Memorable travel should have the power to transform you. Bridge Builders has recently partnered with Pura Vida Coffee, a unique company that specializes in Fair Trade and organic coffee in an effort to bring hope to at-risk children and families in coffee-growing countries. Bridge Builders and Pura Vida Coffee have come together to offer sustainable development tours that explore key industries in Guatemala including Fair Trade coffee, ecotourism, and local arts and crafts used in home décor. These tours provide the opportunity to learn about issues affecting the developing world and the relationship between producers and international consumers. Why Bridge Builders?

Bridge Builders is committed to changing lives through sustainable development practices. What this means is that while we are short-term service trip coordinators, we are also a development organization. By concentrating on good development principles we can be assured of making the greatest impact on our trips that will have a long-term influence on the host country. Among other things, we accomplish this by selecting projects where there is local leadership, vision and ownership of the project, and substantive community involvement.

Bridge Builders constructs the trip and the itinerary to your team’s and to your goals, from start to finish. Your team is not plugged into an equation and given the same experience year after year. Bridge Builders’ teams are full of unique educational and cultural experiences that change from location to location, always providing an adventure to newcomers and a fresh trip to returnees.

Be assured, each and every project selected by Bridge Builders will be sustainable, significant, and will provide the opportunity for team members to work side-by-side with the local community. Trips will be adventurous and exciting with opportunities to learn about the host culture and country and to build relationships with local community members.

In addition, one of Bridge Builders’ key core values is that Nationals are to be treated fairly, equitably and are to be included as an equal partner in all decisions that involve them. We must remember the project is theirs, the community is theirs, and the long-term impact is theirs. The overall interests of the nationals ought to be, and is, of utmost consideration. Long-term developmental implications must be carefully considered in all developmental endeavors. Friendship and trust must always be priorities in all work with Nationals.

Come partner with us.
Change the World, Let the World Change You.
